The United States has struck Iran for the 10th consecutive night.
The strikes started at 4 pm on Monday.
CENTCOM said, “The strikes are designed to further degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”
The United States Central Command said Monday that it has launched another round of strikes on Iran, marking the 10th consecutive night of doing so since a ceasefire between the two countries officially ended.
Fighting in the region resumed last week after negotiations failed to end the conflict, which was in a state of nominal ceasefire for months. In June, the countries signed a memorandum of understanding extending the ceasefire by 60 days.
CENTCOM said the latest strikes began at 4 p.m. Eastern and were issued at President Donald Trump’s direction.
“The strikes are designed to further degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz,” the military command said on X.
Trump sent a warning to Iran on Monday that “Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!”
He said the directive had been passed on to leaders in the Military including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Daniel Caine.
