Donald Trump is calling for unity after the failed assassination attempt against him.
He posted a short message on Truth Social – “Unite America”
In the wake of a failed assassination that shook America to its core, former President Donald Trump is defiantly brushing off his injuries as he seeks to rally the nation toward unity after a stunning act of political violence.
The shooting incident has dominated the news cycle and effectively ended media buzz around the Democrats replacing President Joe Biden as their nominee. Now, the initiative belongs decidedly to Trump, who has vowed to press forward with the Republican National Convention on schedule.
While the convention will see Trump formally nominated by the Republican Party for president, it will also see him reveal his choice of running mate and potential successor as the America First movement’s standard bearer, a choice of pivotal consequence for the nation as the matter of Trump’s own mortality remains top of mind.
“UNITE AMERICA!”

A Pennsylvania firefighter and two other local residents were identified as the victims in the shooting that targeted former President Donald Trump in a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Authorities on Sunday identified the person killed as Corey Comperatore, a firefighter from Sarver, Pennsylvania who had two daughters and was an avid Trump supporter. The two men injured in the shooting – a 57-year-old New Kensington, Pennsylvania, resident and a 74-year-old resident of Moon Township – were in stable condition on Sunday, according to an update from Pennsylvania State Police.
Yesterday time stopped,” said Allyson Comperatore, the victim’s daughter, on Facebook. “And when it started again my family and I started living a real-life nightmare.”
