Criminal Referrals Sent To DOJ After Documents Release

Multiple criminal referrals were sent to the Department of Justice by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
ODNI’s general counsel said this in a letter to the Department of Justice, “I want to refer information that may constitute possible criminal activity in violation of federal criminal law committed by one or more former employees of the intelligence community.”
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence sent criminal referrals to the Justice Department for the whistleblower whose complaint helped trigger President Donald Trump’s 2019 impeachment and for the former intelligence community inspector general who notified Congress of the allegations, Fox News Digital has learned.
“I want to refer information that may constitute possible criminal activity in violation of federal criminal law committed by one or more former employees of the intelligence community,” ODNI’s general counsel wrote in the referral to the Justice Department.

“The possible criminal activity concerns the circumstances described in the following congressional briefings: Discussion with Intelligence Community Inspector General, House Permanent Select Comm. on Intel., 116th Cong. (2019); Briefing by the Intelligence Community Inspector General, House Permanent Select Comm. on Intel., 116th Cong. (2019),” it continued.
Trump reacted to the released documents by saying, “They cheated in the election. They cheated on the vote. They cheated in every way possible.”
President Trump responded Monday to the release this weekend of recently declassified documents showing that Ukraine impeachment source Eric Ciaramella and apparently others submitted false information.
He also said Ciaramella and apparently others had no direct knowledge of the phone call on which the House impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump were based.
